Toolosity is a growing collection of free online tools that convert, compress, and edit your files, and do it entirely on your own device.
What we make
Toolosity is a set of simple, single-purpose tools for everyday media tasks: trimming and cropping a clip, compressing a video to fit an upload limit, converting between formats like MKV, MP4 and WebM, resizing for social platforms, and pulling the audio out of a video as MP3 or WAV. Each tool does one job, needs no sign-up, and works in seconds. We started with video and audio and are expanding toward images and PDFs.
Everything runs on your device
The thing that makes Toolosity different is where the work happens. Most online tools upload your file to a server, process it there, and send it back. Ours don’t. Every tool runs inside your browser using modern web technology (WebAssembly and the WebCodecs API), so your file is read and processed locally and never leaves your computer. There is no upload, no queue, and nothing for us to store or see. Once you close the tab, the file and its result are gone from memory.
A nice side effect: because there is no round-trip to a server, the tools are fast, they work on large files, and they keep working even if your connection drops after the page has loaded.
Free, with no catch
Every tool is free to use with no account, no trial, no watermark on your results, and no artificial file-size wall. We keep the lights on with unobtrusive advertising rather than subscriptions or by charging per file. That model only works if the tools are genuinely useful and the site is worth returning to, which keeps our incentives aligned with yours.
Privacy by design
Because files are processed locally, privacy isn’t a policy promise we ask you to trust, it’s how the tools are built. We don’t receive your files, we don’t require personal details to use a tool, and we collect only anonymous, aggregated analytics to understand what’s useful.
