Remove line breaks.
Strip line breaks and extra blank lines from pasted text, keep paragraphs or flatten to one line. Private, nothing uploaded.
Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Clean up text that's full of awkward line breaks, the kind you get copying from a PDF, an email, or a chat, and get back a tidy block you can paste anywhere. It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and there's no limit on how much you clean.
Keep paragraphs vs. flatten to one line
Two modes cover almost everything. "Keep paragraphs" joins the hard-wrapped lines inside each paragraph into flowing text while preserving the blank line between paragraphs, which is what you want for prose copied out of a PDF or a justified email. "Flatten to one line" removes every break so the whole thing becomes a single continuous line, useful for pasting into a single cell, a URL, a JSON string, or a field that treats returns as a submit.
Why copied text breaks in weird places
PDFs and many emails store a hard return at the end of every visual line, not just at the end of each paragraph. When you paste that text somewhere with a different width, the old breaks stay put and the text looks ragged, splitting mid-sentence. Removing those within-paragraph breaks lets the text reflow naturally to its new container. This tool collapses the stray breaks while leaving the real paragraph boundaries alone so the meaning and structure survive.
Tidying up extra blank lines
Alongside line breaks, pasted text often carries runs of empty lines, double or triple spacing between paragraphs, or trailing whitespace. Both modes also collapse repeated blank lines down to a single separation and trim stray spaces, so the result is clean rather than just unwrapped. The output is plain text with no hidden formatting, so it pastes consistently into documents, CMS fields, spreadsheets, and code.
Tips
- Pasting prose from a PDF? Use "keep paragraphs" so sentences rejoin but paragraph breaks stay.
- Need a single value for a spreadsheet cell or URL? Use "flatten to one line".
- The result is plain text, so it won't carry hidden fonts or styles into your document.
- Everything runs locally, so you can clean sensitive text without it leaving your device.
How it works
- 01
Paste your text
Text copied from a PDF, email, or code comment, it stays in your browser.
- 02
Choose how to clean it
Keep paragraphs (join wrapped lines) or flatten everything to a single line.
- 03
Copy the result
Copy the cleaned text back out, ready to paste anywhere.
Questions
- How do I remove line breaks from text copied out of a PDF?
- Paste it in and choose "keep paragraphs". The tool joins the hard-wrapped lines inside each paragraph back into flowing text while keeping the blank line between paragraphs, then you copy the cleaned result.
- What's the difference between the two modes?
- "Keep paragraphs" rejoins wrapped lines but preserves paragraph breaks. "Flatten to one line" strips every break so the whole text becomes one continuous line, good for a single cell, a URL, or a string.
- Does it also remove extra blank lines and spaces?
- Yes. Both modes collapse repeated blank lines to a single break and trim stray trailing spaces, so the output is tidy, not just unwrapped.
- Is my text uploaded?
- No. The cleaning happens entirely in your browser, your text never leaves your device, and nothing is stored.
