Which way to rotate
Match the turn to how the PDF is wrong. A document scanned in landscape that shows sideways usually needs 90° in one direction; if the first try faces the wrong way, use the opposite 90°. A fully upside-down scan needs 180°. The rotation is added to each page's current orientation, so a page that already carries a rotation flag still ends up where you expect rather than snapping to an absolute angle.
